Armour House Wedding
As featured on Style Me Pretty.
In our first meeting with Mirini and Jason, we exchanged Netflix playlists and realized our common passion for great movies and TV. Later, as we helped the couple plan their wedding day schedule, we had so many interesting ideas for their wedding film and decided to add a second day of shooting so that we would have enough time to make everything happen. Mirini and Jason had a rehearsal walk-through the day before at Armour House so it made sense to schedule the cinema shoot that day. We met the couple at our downtown studio to record their voice over. They had written a few lines about how they met and what it meant to them personally. After recoding their voice-overs, we drove to the venue and shot Jason driving in his convertible. We captured aerials and car-mount shots. Then we setup an incredible first look under the outdoor pagoda. Both parents were present and we captured some really touching reaction shots. We also mic’d the couple and you can hear their real first reaction’s to seeing each other; so touching. This pre-shoot allowed us to tell the couple’s story in a much more detailed and intimate way.
From the couple ~ Brief Synopsis of how we met:
Mirini and I first met at a church gathering back in 2008. I would have never guessed at that moment that I would be meeting my future wife. Over the years, our friendship grew and we were in and out of each other’s lives. However, in May 2012, when I returned from deployment, I challenged Mirini that I could win her over in a matter of a week. The first week, I gave her a journal filled with entries for her to read each day of the week. Each entry gave her hints about the day I had planned for us.
Throughout dating, we discussed marriage and our future together. Our Christian faith was central to our discussions. Mirini knew I was going to propose because I asked her parents for permission. When I mustered up the courage to ask her father to marry Mirini, he said hold on. He then proceeded to call Mirini and asked her if she wanted to marry me. He also EMPHASIZED that it wasn’t too late to back out! As I sat there with sweaty palms awaiting her father’s approval, Mirini said she was sure and so her father gave me his blessing.
During this time of our relationship, Mirini was at Vanderbilt doing her Masters while I was in Washington D.C. working. Since Mirini knew I was going to ask her to marry me, I created a week of surprise “almost” proposals where I would create situations where she would think I would propose but it would lead to another clue where she would find out what would happen the next day. I got her friends at Nashville to help create these “moments” which they absolutely nailed!
The last clue also contained a plane ticket to come to D.C. where I proposed in the garden of the Washington National Cathedral and she said YES! She also told me that the anticipation was killing her!
Mirini + Jason’s review
We really enjoyed working with Steve & Ton-Essa. Deciding to make a wedding film with Loudbyte, as opposed a traditional videographer, was truly a unique and memorable experience. From the beginning Loudbyte was very prompt and professional. I really appreciate their passion and enthusiasm. Our conversations and meetings got us really excited about filming our wedding day. We had a few hiccups planning our schedule because of complications with our venue, but Steve and Ton-Essa were flexible and understanding. The wedding venue might have caused us a lot of stress, but it was always a relief to talk to Steve and Ton-Essa because they helped put us at ease. The day of the wedding they were on time, prepared and helped make sure we got all the shots we needed for the film according to the schedule we had discussed. They were team players had no problems coordinating with our DJ and photographer. To sum things up, they are professional, creative, and passionate about their work.
